Sony on julkaissut videon, jossa se esittelee päivitys 2.4:n sisältöä. Päivitys tuo mukanaan muun muassa pelinaikana käytettävän XMB-valikon ja myös myöhemmin ilmestyvään Homeen yhdistettävät palkinnot, jotka vastaavat käytännössä Xbox 360:n saavutusjärjestelmää.
Päivityksen voi ladata PlayStation 3:een huomisesta lähtien ilmaiseksi. Videon päivityksen ominaisuuksista pääset näkemään tästä!

List of First PS3 Trophy Supported Games
The 2.40 firmware is bringing in-game XMB and trophies. The first games getting trophy support include BUZZ! Quiz TV, LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm Pacific Rift, NBA 09, PAIN, PixelJunk Eden, Resistance 2, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation and Warhawk. Sony stressed that the firmware update only "enables" custom soundtracks, and that it falls to developers to incorporate the feature into upcoming titles or patch existing ones.

2.40 includes hidden PSN Store upgrade
The new look PSN Store is definitely something to behold, even if we've mostly gotten used to what it looks like by now. Unfortunately, it suffered from not caching images properly and, as a result, slow loading of items on the store. If you're someone who's particularly annoyed by this, then you'll be happy to hear that firmware 2.40 seems to have brought with it a little surprise which makes the store run a lot smoother. This is true of both the US and the EU stores.

GameSpy: Is there an official list of available games slated to patch with trophies on or around Wednesday beyond Super Stardust HD, PAIN, Warhawk, and PixelJunk Eden?
Lempel: The only game that will officially be patched on the day of the firmware update is Super Stardust HD. The other games announced on the PlayStation blog will eventually update. We can officially confirm that besides the titles we've already announced, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will also receive a patch at some point in the foreseeable future.
